Headshot Details

Your Session
Over the session, we’ll talk about who you are, what you want out of the photos, and what kind of headshots inspire you. We can shoot a variety of different looks and outfits, giving you a range of images to choose from for various projects.
The approved shots will be made available on a proofing website. You will be able to give the link to anyone who might help you choose the shots you decide to use.

My studio is the beautiful, wooden upstairs of my antique Sears Catalog Home. It’s has the versatility and quality of a New York photo studio with the cozy comforts of home.
Studio location: 40 Welshs Ln, Somerset, NJ 08873

Payment is required in full at the beginning of the session. Please bring cash or a check. In accordance with the state of New Jersey, a sales tax of 7% will be added to any package selected. An invoice will be sent before the session, after a date has been decided.

Included in the session package is retouching for up to 10 images (selected by you). Additional retouching can be purchased at $5 per image.

Bring a range of clothing options - different colors, warmths, textures, etc.  More choices are always preferred than less! Make sure you love the options you bring and feel comfortable and confident in what you will be wearing.

  • Minimal, tailored clothing is in my experience best. Also simple or solid colors, nothing too distracting.
  • I would stay away from thick sweaters and bulkier items.
  • No jewelry is preferred - it draws attention away from your face.

Hair and Makeup
The thing I hear most from casting directors is that they want your headshot to look like the person who walks into the casting session.

I recommend a clean, natural makeup look. I recommend bringing makeup to the session for touch ups throughout the shoot. I also ask that everyone come in with their hair ready the way you would like to present yourself.  We want your hair in your pictures to be as close as possible to the way you look on a fantastic hair day. Being able to switch up your hair partway through the shoot is even better.

I don’t recommend makeup on men personally. Just come with a clean, washed face. If anything, we'll remove some oil from your skin during the session with pads.
